Description
I allow a clump of chives to spread into my flower garden because it is effortless and the pretty purple flowers add early color. I decided to photograph the flower head with the macro lens on my camera to get a nice close up shot. When I downloaded the photos I zoomed in even more and found out that the flower head isn’t just one flower, but a series of individual flowers clumped together. Each one had a tiny white stamen hidden in the flower. I thought that was so interesting that I decided to paint this in detail so other could share in the wonder of the complexity of a simple herb flower.
The watercolor painting is 5 x 7 inches. The original is matted in a 11 x 14 in mat and shipped flat.
